We are a friendly, welcoming pre-school that offers young children all the opportunities they need to learn and develop through play, in a caring and safe environment.

We have been supporting the Biggleswade community for 35 years and continue to maintain the highest standards in children's early years' education. For the past 12 years, we have been based within the grounds of St Andrews Lower School in Brunts Lane, providing parents that live on the west side of Biggleswade easy access. On September 7th 2015, we opened our second site within the building of St Andrews Lower School in the Kings Reach area, providing pre-school places for children that live on the east side of Biggleswade.

As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) we believe strongly in not for profit and this allows us to keep our fees within a  range that we believe is affordable to most parents.  Any small profit that is made each year is used to improve the environment for the children who attend and to purchase new toys and equipment.

Our highly trained staff are committed to providing quality learning experiences tailored to children's individual needs, priding ourselves on our inclusive practice.  We ensure that all children have equal opportunity to access Rainbow Pre-School & Extended Services, including those with special educational needs or disabilities.

We adhere to the  Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, ( EYFS) within which are seven areas of learning and development that shape our educational programmes.  Children are encouraged to develop at their own pace and by using our individual observations of children, we plan for their next steps.  By following children's interests we provide a varied and challenging day that is exciting and fun.

We believe that an important part of our role is to assist children to be school-ready by the time they leave Rainbow to attend reception. We have designed a programme which focuses on areas that we believe will provide children with a good start to their full-time education.  Morning, afternoon or all-day pre-school sessions are available for children from 2 years old.

We also recognise the difficulties facing working parents, in finding high-quality affordable childcare arrangements outside of school hours.  We, therefore, provide a well established and highly regarded before and after school club during term time.  Breakfast Club opens at 7.30 am and After School Club is open until 6 pm.  We also offer a Holiday Club service to provide care for your child during school holidays.  Our aim is to cater for all children aged 2 years old to the end of Year 4 at school, providing a quiet area for reading and relaxing as well as arranging structured games and activities for those who want to join in.

In response to our support and guidance provided to parents during COVID-19 we received the following comments:

I needed that kind reminder to thank you so very much, some of us are struggling with ways to keep our children entertained and engaged whilst we have limited means and lack of outdoor activities. But we have enjoyed the activities you send as they are basic easy to do, fun things. Things that sometimes are easily overlooked by parents, so thank you and please send us more! Only if your time permits.

Hope you're all keeping safe and well.
And you to must remember, your ability to carry on offering a service to key workers and their children save 100s of lives a day, on behalf of them we would like to thank you, god bless you all.
